The artistry of my wedding photography will forever capture the many reflections of emotions on your special day, with exceptional images that will touch your heart as you live your lives together.
I have set myself apart by mastering the art of lighting – the key ingredient in creating some of the most beautiful wedding photography around. “Off-camera lighting” is usually used in shaping the light for the best look in beautiful, dramatic portraits. Direct on-camera flash is considered satisfactory for candids, not for portraiture. I seldom use this simplified lighting technique. “Natural light” is used only in certain situations, since most natural light situations are considered unattractive lighting – usually with washed out backgrounds, raccoon eyes and flat colors. It’s basically the same as taking pictures with your cell phone.
I believe in tradition, where the bride should not be seen by the groom till she comes down the aisle – which is why I never ask the couple to take their formal pictures prior to the ceremony. Some photographers will either have a set policy, or will strongly insist that the formal pictures of the two of you need to be taken hours before the ceremony. What’s even more ridiculous is dressing up for pictures days before or after the wedding, making the bride once again do make-up, hair etc. And believe it or not, unfortunately, you may be charged for the opportunity you are giving that photographer. The greatest wedding photographers out there are recognized for being able to capture exceptionally beautiful images in a short amount of time, without having a policy of pre-ceremony formals, or using models for staged photo sessions in the creation of their gallery.
The best of traditional and candid photography is used – creating beautiful images with an unposed look, while capturing the candidness of people and their many feelings being expressed.
With several packages to choose from, you also have the option to custom design your own package to fit your needs and budget, and all packages include a Hi-Resolution DVD or Flash-Drive of all your wedding day images with full printing release. Packages come with a beautiful “flush-mount” or so-called “coffee table books”, or if you choose a “traditional album”. Other “goodies” that come with packages are parent albums, engagement sessions, signature boards , guest signature album and wall portraits. Any of these options may also be added to any smaller package. Videography is also offered as well for your special day.
While “Photoshop” is fantastic for making images look their best in color, sharpness and exposure, I do believe it can be taken too far. The skills and ambition to capture exceptionally beautiful images in the camera is being lost. More and more, “Photoshop” is being used in the creation of a dramatic image. This is essentially “computer art.” While I have nothing against another form of art, I do believe that the challenge & creativity behind the camera are being lost. Photographers are simply getting lazy. They wish to have the computer, and in some cases a computer artist, create it for them. I am still more of a “traditional” photographer and believe the true art of photography should be created in the camera. My couples can truly say – they were there to experience it.
